Sa Pa District is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, and 350km's north-west of Hanoi, close to the border with China. The Hoang Lien Son range of mountains dominates the district, which is at the eastern extremity of the Himalayas. This range includes Vietnams' highest mountain, Fan si pan, at a height of 3142m above sea level. The town of Sa Pa lies at about 1600 meters of altitude. The climate is moderate and rainy in summer (May—August), and foggy and cold with occasional snowfalls in winter.
Started from Sapa by cycling along the newly built dirt road, which will bring you to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai , Ta Van, Su Pan. After a short break here, you will pass through the Black Hmong Village to the Tay ethnic minority village of Thanh Phu . While your cook is preparing a delicious lunch, you will have time to explore the village and soon you will find out that things are not done in the way you are used to know. In the afternoon, your adventure continues into the Red Dao village of Sin Chai
During this cultural expedition, you will enjoy the best of Northern Viet Nam in the areas of Mai Chau, Lai Chau and Sa Pa. The mountainous North West provides the perfect terrain for trekking routes. The Thai minority, a warm and friendly ethnic group, will welcome you into their homes and share their stilt house lifestyle. The roads wind precariously across the mountain ranges, capturing the intensely varied lifestyles of Vietnamese people. The final two days of your journey will be spent trekking to stay in minority villages around Sa Pa.
Phansipan (3143m) which named the
rooftop of Indochina; is divided into two parts which having different
ecological conditions: Northwest with Son La - Moc Chau tableland; and
Northeast with mountains range as a convex bow-shaped toward the East
and Southeast converge to Tam Dao mountain. We strongly suggest the
4days/ 3 nights climb for this adventure - unless you are very fit and
eager to have some long and quite hard days of trekking! The climbs do
not demand high technical skills of the climb.
In this 02 night-homestay tour you will have more chances to experience
the attractive Sapa, understand more about the culture of other
minority. Especially you will stay overnight on the stilt-house of the
Tay hill tribe. We hope that you will be satisfied after doing this
tour.
The old French-built hill station of
Sapa (1600m above sea level) is the natural starting point for a unique
experience of the Sapa area. This includes the Hoang Lien Son mountain
range, and Indochina's highest peaks, Fansipan (3143m), and 6 different
ethnic minority groups, each one colorful, distinct and with its own
language and cultural values.
